NLWA Annual Meeting July 18 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Administrator
Wednesday, 01 July 2009

The Northwood Lake Watershed Association will have our Annual Meeting on July 18 at the Northwood Town Beach on Lake Shore Drive. The meeting will commence at 9:30 AM, and the public is welcome. If it rains we'll meet at the Northwood Town Hall .

Our guest speaker this year is Sara Steiner, Volunteer Lake Assessment Program Coordinator, NH Department of Environmental Services. Sara has coordinated the NH Department of Environmental Services' VLAP Program since 2007. Prior to that Sara coordinated the NH Department of Environmental Services' Coastal and Freshwater Beach Programs and has been with the department for seven years.

We'll also be electing Officers and Directors. Directors represent their neighbors' views at the NLWA meetings which are generally held once a month, March to October. We try to  keep our meetings to under two hours.

This year, 2009, DES could only give matching grants to half of the applicants for milfoil treatment. Your participation is very important. Representation from your neighborhood is very important to make good decisions for Northwood Lake. The more eyes and ears we have around the lake, the more and better information the board has in making decisions about milfoil, water quality, education, and finances. We are looking for Director representation from Sleepy Hollow, Lake
Sites, Lake Shore Drive, and Tasker Lane neighborhoods. We welcome people willing to be
directors from other areas of the lake as well. If you're ready to step up and help, send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , or attend the meeting and let us know of your interest.
