Notice to Residents - Treatment of Northwood Lake

Here is the latest on the treatment for variable milfoil in Northwood Lake, courtesy of Jim Vaillancourt:

We have the permit in hand for the June 5th Navigate (2,4-D) treatment of 33 acres of Northwood Lake.

Here are some of the provisions in the permit:

  1. The treatment is now being done June 5th.
  2. The first sample for water testing will be done on June 20th.
  3. The second sample should be done July 5th.
  4. Two post treatment samples must be collected from the well of Louie's Pizza at 3 days and 1 month post treatment.
  5. Drinking restriction for wells within 50 feet of the lake.
  6. Swimming restriction for 7 days.
  7. Irrigation restriction for 30 days.
  8. NLWA shall make bottled water available, on request, to all persons affected by the potable drinking water use restriction.
  9. Lycott is responsible to find all public wells, the permit list the trailer park.
  10. Permit expires Sept 30, 2008.
