In 2000, the Northwood Lake Watershed Association launched its presence on the internet with the development of the NorthwoodLake.com web site. Since then this site has grown to be a very popular and important information resource for lake area residents and, in fact, the world. In the interest of continuing to be able to fund our outreach efforts both on the internet and by newsletter, we have developed the following sponsorship program.
Our program has two levels of annual sponsorship, the Platinum Level and the Gold Level. Funds from sponsorships go directly into the NLWA general fund. Web site development, maintenance, and hosting are all donated. The Northwood Lake Watershed Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit New Hampshire corporation in good standing . More details about each sponsorship level are available by emailing

The NLWA distributes two newsletters a year to about 350 lake area residents. We also distribute our most recent newsletter at the Northwood Lake boat launch and at our Annual Meeting. Banner Click Thrus are tracked. Your banner will be rotated with up to four other banners (the "Sponsor the NLWA" banner will be included). Banners are served randomly. The Gold sponsorship is available to those contributing $50 or more per year. It includes your business name and contact information, linked to your web site, in the "NLWA Supporters" block on the left side of the NorthwoodLake.com front page. The "NLWA Supporters" block will be "below the fold". You will also be recognized as a contributor in two NLWA newsletters. Click Thrus are not tracked. Please read the section below on Site Statistics . Site Statistics
As a potential sponsor of the NLWA, the obvious question is, "How many people visit NorthwoodLake.com?". The answer to this relies on the statistics collected automatically by the web site. And let's keep in mind what you really want to know; how many people will see your information. It doesn't do you a whole lot of good to have a search bot crawling your information; it's not a person, and it is unlikely to recognize your philanthropy or patronize your business. Yet, many site statistic trackers lump non-human stats in with human stats. That number, for the NorthwoodLake.com web site, is in the tens of thousands per month. At the bottom left side of the NorthwoodLake.com front page there is a Site Statistics block. These statistics are a relatively accurate answer to the initial question of how many people visit the site. Visits by search bots and other automated machine based (non-human) site visits are filtered out. As you might expect of our web site, the number of visits to the site increase during the summer months. Another usefull determiner of a site's popularity would be the position of the site in a search engine query. For example, if you search for "northwood lake" on Google , our site is the first, and therefore the most likely to be clicked, result. Notice that the search phrase did NOT include words that would specify Northwood Lake, New Hampshire. NorthwoodLake.com is currently the first position result for the same search on Yahoo! . Our site is well positioned to be the destination of people looking for anything to do with our lake.
